Software Engineer


Position Summary

This client is located in Southern Butler County in Western Pennsylvania and is a leader in their industry. They are profitable and growing and have made two acquisitions over the past two years, allowing for growth in the company. 

As a Software Engineer you will contribute to the architecture, design, and development of software used in the control of machinery and data collection; Create electrical and controls engineering drawings and documents; Specify electrical controls equipment and panel components; Review proposed changes to existing designs for compliance with engineering standards, accepted practices and safety standards; Review specifications to support proposal efforts; Work with suppliers to specify and procure engineered components; Develop PLC and HMI projects and control logic diagrams; Working knowledge of IEEE, UL, NEC, CSA, C+++ Programing, and EU/CE standards as they apply to our applications. Engineering training and experience is critical for this position.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Software, Electrical, or other engineering field of study with programming course work 

  • 4 years required, 5 to 8 years of applicable experience preferred

  • Equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be substituted

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience programming and configuring temperature controllers such as Watlow, Eurotherm, and Honeywell.

  • Experience programming and configuring Yaskawa motion controllers and drives. Heidenhain experience a plus.

  • Experience using LabView real-time or other embedded software development.

  • Programming experience in C++ development.

  • Programming experience with Python.

  • Knowledge of Autodesk products: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor Pro.

Reporting:  Reports to the Engineering Manager

Travel: Occasional travel may be required to customer locations. <10%

BASE SALARY $75,000 - $90,000
