Our client, a reputable company in the real estate and property management industries is seeking a Human Resources Manager to oversee all essential HR responsibilities and assist in company growth and development. You will be a member of the management team, meaning this role encompasses traditional HR duties and leadership/managerial responsibilities. Your confidence in the industry and poise as a leader will be essential for success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advises on employee, organizational and business issues; also advises on the internal organization and the optimization of the business strategy.

  • Translates the business strategies into HR requirements, organization and management concepts (i.e. defining HR key success factors, HR policies, programs, alignment/standardization of key HR processes, implementation and monitoring the execution).

  • Administers the annual employee performance/salary evaluation program. Reviews evaluations for accuracy, effectiveness, compliance, and equality throughout the organization.

  • Develops, recommends, and implements company policies and procedures, including preparation of employee handbook.

  • Ensures that all HR policies and procedures are up to date, documented as appropriate, and compliant with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, including those established by the EEOC, ADA, FMLA, WCB, and FSLA.

  • Administers the entire benefits program.

  • Participates as needed in regularly scheduled management meetings.

  • Assists with the coordination of company events and employee activities.

  • Ensures that the organization has a high quality and talented work force that meets current and future business objectives through the assessment of future needs, including recruitment, succession planning, continuous development of people, implementing and guiding talent development policies and training, while taking into account labor and training budgets.

  • Acts as a Change Agent in identifying, initiating and monitoring organizational and/or cultural changes to ensure that human capital and organizational capabilities support the business objectives and are as effective as possible.

  • Ensures that the organization has a productive and open communication flow, suggesting alternatives, and coaching managers where improvement is needed.

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of business strategies, policies and budgets; monitors business performance to ensure business objectives are achieved.

  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

  • Implements and coordinates all applicable company HR systems and initiatives.

  • Advises and coaches individual employees and managers on HR issues.

  • Plans and updates policies and programs that improve work force satisfaction, minimize legal exposure, and contribute to operational profitability.

  • Develops and implements recruitment/retention strategies.

  • Screens, interviews, and assesses candidates to determine if they meet hiring criteria.

  • Provides direction and consultation with department managers on job specifications and requirements for hiring.

  • Recommends and coordinates details of candidate offers, relocation details, orientation schedules, and on-boarding needs.

  • Conducts new associate orientations; schedules background checks, physicals and drug screens.

  • Conducts exit interviews.

  • Participates in surveys to benchmark current salary structures and benefit practices and recommends improvements/changes where appropriate.

  • Coordinates business unit salaries and total compensation.

  • Coordinates all benefit activities.

  • Works with Accounting and Finance on budgetary changes for annual benefit charges

  • Exercises a high level of discretion, professionalism, and independent judgment in the application of human resources.\

  • Implements and provides guidance of the organization’s HR policies.

  • Gives and maintains guidelines and minimum requirements on all HR processes.

  • Gives proactive advice to management and HR managers on all personnel matters, including salary and remuneration packages.

  • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing departmental processes and procedures need to be updated to ensure efficient department operations and regulatory legal/compliance.

  • Evaluates and recommends policies to the management team.

  • Maintains working knowledge of relevant compliance issues for Human Resources.

  • Edits and maintains current job descriptions, performance evaluations and associate records.

  • Meets with managers and advises on personnel performance issues as well as other human resource issues.

  • Meets with associates to resolve HR issues or questions.

  • Facilitates all leaves of absences, including Family Medical Leave and short-term disability.

Candidate Qualifications

You must have in-depth industry knowledge to be a reputable leader and change agent at the company. Versatility in the work place is also essential due to the collaboration across departments. The ideal candidate will also have strong written and verbal communication abilities and have the ability to develop and nurture relationships with employees at all levels. The ability to detect bias and separate fact from opinion in an analytical way is an essential qualification for this role, as you will be responsible for employee relations at all levels of the company. The ideal candidate must also have strong presentation skills and the ability to prioritize projects. Other qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or related field.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of human resource management at a comparable level.

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred; not required.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Previous experience with employee relations.

  • Proven knowledge of federal and state employment laws to solve problems related to recruitment and employee relations.

  • Knowledge of database systems (Access, Excel, SAP) or similar payroll systems.

  • Above average interpersonal skills to interface and counsel employees and supervisors.

  • Exceptional analytical skills.

  • Strong understanding of HR processes and data and thorough working knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations.

$85,000 - $95,000 SALARY + BENEFITS
