To lead a multi-disciplinary management team to enhance the innovative potential of the business. Developing, strategizing, and planning new interventions that will drive innovation. Creating and overseeing a comprehensive long-term innovation strategy for the company.

Minimum education:

Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Analytical Chemistry 

Minimum skills and experience:

  • 5-10 years industrial/commercial experience with demonstrated successful experience supervising managers, supervisors, scientists, lab technicians, non-technical support staff, and non-technical part-time/temporary employees.

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to work well with subordinates, superiors, peers, customers, suppliers, and industry colleagues.

  • Knowledge of Intellectual Property Processes.

  • Strong understanding of chemical formulations, regulatory support, and EH&S.

  • Demonstrated successful track record of commercial development.

  • Demonstrated excellent skills in written and verbal

  • Knowledge of agricultural industry, pesticide industries, or other heavily regulated chemical disciplines is preferred.

  • Individual must be able to successfully exist in a lean organization while not sacrificing quality

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the company-wide technical developmental effort (research, product development, commercial development, technical service, analytical service)

  • Manage the Intellectual Property Portfolio

  • Continue to evolve and adapt the Quality Program through guidance to the Quality Manager.

  • Provide direction to the Regulatory Affairs and EH&S Manager to support corporate initiatives.

  • Interface with the corporate manufacturing plants and laboratory where needed to provide technical support

  • Interface with the field sales force and provide technical assistance and input at the direction of the Global Technical Director, Regional Sales Managers, and President.

  • Engage in direct execution of scientific experiments (laboratory and field) with R&D team through lead-by-example tactics

  • Serve as one of the corporate focal points for global industry associations, internal and external customers, legal organizations, and regulatory bodies.

Salary: $100,000 - $140,000
